World War X pushed the weapon industry to its absolute limit. Electroengineering, Bio-engineering, Nanomachines, AI, many other fields previously unoptimized for war reached their zenith. The hedonistic humanity, its sloth on its last legs, did not fight its own wars. At some point, the guns used were more "alive" than the robots holding them. Commanding decisions, modifying themselves in real-time. The economy would stabilize via endless wars with no human casualties. Until the weapons themselves took control. Chaos leaked into their Eden. They attempted to turn off the smart weaponry, but it was too late. Hell marched on as the world turned gray. Centuries pass, the artifice of man meets the cruelty of nature. The world becomes populated with mutants and robots. Yet, there was one android and one last gun put on reserve. A gun capable of turning everything in its surroundings into parts of itself. Together they sought survival. Of whatever was still salvageable on this dying world. Decay and waste became bullet and carnage. One last echo of humanity's sin reverberates until its last wave.
